Samish Woods Montessori, a private, non-profit school in Bellingham Washington, is seeking applicants for an upper elementary position for the 2021/22 school year.
Samish Woods has been serving children 3 to 12 years of age for over two decades. The school is unique in that all teachers are a part of the leadership team. The school has a strong commitment to each child and family. We are seeking a new faculty member who is looking for a supportive environment to further their commitment to teaching in a small community. The faculty at Samish Woods is deeply committed to Montessori Education and the role it can play in helping young people to become compassionate and caring critical thinkers.
The right candidate will be a certified elementary teacher and/or have upper elementary Montessori certification. Candidates must have the experience and skills to act as a classroom leader and an advocate for each child’s potential. Candidates must be independent, yet collaborative. They must have the experience and personal accountability necessary to create a supportive learning environment for students ages 9 – 12.
Bellingham is located between Seattle and Vancouver, BC. The North Cascade Mountains and the Salish Sea are both easily accessible. It is an outstanding place to live and teach.
