RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate childcare program for young children in keeping with the Montessori philosophy.
• Plan and implement culturally appropriate activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of the children in the program
• Provide various experiences and activities for children including presenting materials, songs, games and story-telling in keeping with the Montessori teaching philosophy
• Establish routines and provide positive guidance
• Clearly and effectively communicate in a respectful manner that children understand
• Observe children and make notes of developmental progress, include photos and samples of work
• Routinely provide verbal and written updates to parents on their child’s development
• Provide a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable and ensure children are supervised within sight AND sound at all times

QUALIFICATIONS
• Hold a bachelors degree in Education or related field
• American Montessori Society (AMS) or Association Montessori International (AMI) certificate (preferred)
• Successfully pass pre-employment background check, physical and TB test
• Experience: minimum of 2 years leading a classroom
