City Garden Montessori School (City Garden) is the only Montessori charter school in Missouri, and we are one of the highest-performing charter schools in the state. Located in St. Louis, Missouri, City Garden is looking forward to beginning its 14th school year in 2021-22. We began in 2008 with 53 students; and, we are expecting to serve over 400 children in preschool through eighth grade next year. As we grow, we continue to seek individuals to join us who share our vision for academic excellence for all children and holistic Montessori education, rooted in equity and social justice.
Lead Guides – Primary
City Garden is expanding its Early Childhood education staff for the 2021-22 school year. We are seeking to fill six positions for Montessori Primary Lead Guides (ages 3 to 5 years). We are in search of educators with a passion for academically rigorous, individualized, experiential education in a diverse public school setting to fulfill the position of Primary Lead Guide. The Lead Guide will work with an Assistant Guide in the classroom.
We are beginning this expansion with the separation of the Primary age group, with three classrooms for Kindergarten (age 5) and three classrooms for ages 3 and 4. Our long-term plan is to combine students aged 3, 4, and 5 into classrooms aligned with the traditional Montessori planes of development. This means that all Primary Lead Guides will need to possess, or be willing to acquire, state education certification, in addition to their Montessori certification in Early Childhood education.
The ideal candidate for Primary Lead Guide will have a Bachelor’s degree and both Montessori and state certification in Early Childhood education.
A qualified candidate for Primary Lead Guide is someone who has a Bachelor’s degree, is a Montessori certified Early Childhood educator and who is interested in growing with us by acquiring state certification in Early Childhood education, which we will assist you in obtaining.
The candidate must be committed to growing in a school environment that is committed to anti-bias/anti-racist values and practices with a vision to create a more equitable world through education. We are seeking candidates who are outstanding, innovative teachers, have professional teaching experience and who are interested in making City Garden their vocational “home” for many years.
Additional Information:
This position offers a salary ranging from $38,250.00 to $45,190.00 based on level of education and years of teaching experience, as well as robust benefits including medical, dental, retirement, and generous personal time off.
