Ghent Montessori School, fully accredited by International Montessori Council, located in
downtown Norfolk, VA, seeks a Middle School Adolescent co-teacher for our Middle School
classroom beginning in August, 2021. The candidate will work collaboratively with an
experienced Middle School guide. The preferred candidate will have worked in a Middle
School classroom and hold an accredited diploma or be committed to take the certification
course. We seek a creative and caring individual who is willing to work with an experienced
middle school guide to create and deliver a solid curriculum that meets the needs of the
adolescent according to Dr. Montessori’s vision.
Qualifications:
Accredited adolescent training (AMI, AMS, IMC) or experience in the Montessori Adolescent
classroom and a commitment to take the adolescent training within the first year of
employment
Must display a positive attitude and possess a genuine understanding of the needs of the
adolescent
Must possess excellent written skills and a desire to play a creative role in ongoing
curriculum enhancement.
Willingness to work collaboratively and thoughtfully as part of a collegial team
Possession of professional maturity, sound judgment, integrity, and the ability to interact
positively with parents and other team members.
