The Lower Elementary Teacher is responsible for managing a class of children between the ages of 6-9, and to prepare the environment to meet the developmental needs and interests of the children. They should provide a positive and inclusive environment by promoting independence and self-led learning, and respect among students. Lead teacher is responsible for giving individual and group lessons to students, demonstrating proper use of Montessori materials and guiding students through their learning. Lead teacher is responsible for maintaining open and honest communication with administration, staff and parents by creating and fostering a collaborative partnership in the education of their children.
Alegria is located in beautiful St. Petersburg in a serene and natural environment near the coast. We are a bilingual school offering both English and Spanish with an emphasis on cultural studies.
Qualifications: BA/BS required. Montessori credential for Elementary I level or self-directed intern. Spanish speakers welcome.
