The Montessori Children’s House of Valley Forge (MCHVF) is seeking a visionary Head of School to lead the school into the next stage of excellence. MCHVF is a non-profit, parent-owned school established in 1963, a full member school of the American Montessori Society and licensed by the PA. Department of Education and OCDEL (the office of Child Development and Early Learning). MCHVF is a vibrant community of dedicated teachers and parents and is uniquely situated in Valley Forge National Historical Park.

The Head of School will implement MCHVF’s mission and policies as established by the Board of Directors and Educational Committee. The Head of School shall be an effective communicator with all constituents of the school and will have the ability to inspire others and provide clear leadership while fostering a collaborative school community.

The successful applicant must be dedicated to maintaining the vision of the school, guided by the school’s mission statement and be willing to guide and nurture MCHVF’s unique culture. The ideal candidate will have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills as well as experience and knowledge of the administrative, financial and legal requirements of heading a school. The successful applicant will demonstrate a deep knowledge of the Montessori philosophy and method, as well as an ability to communicate and share it with others, including parents, prospective parents, the school community and the community at large.

Minimum of a BA or BS degree, Montessori training credential, private school teaching credential and a work history including at least five years of demonstrated success as a head teacher in a Montessori school are required. Previous Head of School or related administrative/management position preferred. Advanced degree in early childhood education or related field preferred.
