A private university in Irvine, California, is seeking a full-time Director for the laboratory preschool. The candidate for this position should have a strong foundation in Montessori and/or Reggio philosophy, as well as five years of classroom and school leadership experience. This position is responsible for overall leadership of the University Laboratory Preschool to promote and foster a community of parents, students, and educators steeped in high-quality pedagogy. Furthermore, as an integral part of the university, the Director will nurture relationships embracing the many available resources at the university. The Director supervises all school staffing, operations, policies, procedures, and is responsible for the school’s health and safety compliance. The Director will exhibit and model a positive, participatory leadership style over all areas of the preschool, including teacher development, curricular issues, parent relations, administrative reporting, community and government relations, assessment, and accreditation responsibilities. The Director facilitates collaboration among teachers, parents, administrators, and staff with activities and events to enrich learning and a spirit of community. Masters level degree preferred. Current pediatric CPR & First Aid required. California site supervisor permit preferred.
