Xavier University Montessori Lab School is currently seeking a full-time Assistant Principal. The Lab School serves students at the following levels: Early Childhood, Elementary I-II, and Middle School. The position is responsible for assisting the Principal of the Xavier University Montessori Lab School in providing educational and instructional leadership to faculty, staff, parents, and students. Responsibilities of the position include: annual fundraising events, marketing lab school, enrollment and licensing compliances, school tours, participate in building curriculum and research, observe and mentors teachers, coordinate faculty meetings, professional development and parent education events, implement strategies for consistent understanding and application of school routines and policies, assist the Principal in all areas related to the operation of the school, including community stewardship, hiring/support of personnel, maintenance of the school environment, and all administrative functions.

Required Education and Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree in Education required. A Masters in Education preferred

A recognized Montessori credential at either/or the Early Childhood, Elementary I/ Elementary I & II level

Evidence of professional experience within the past five years, such as: letters of recommendation, examples of curriculum development, publications, professional presentations, etc.

Evidence of at least 3 years of teaching experience in a

Montessori classroom with children after receipt of

Montessori credential

Evidence of a deep understanding of the Montessori philosophy and curriculum development, e.g. portfolio, unit work, etc.

Ohio State Teaching License, Principal License/or AMS

Administrator Credentials

Current American Montessori Society Membership
