Location: Cobb School Montessori, a mid-size private school in the Simsbury CT

Job Summary:
The Montessori Elementary Teacher will be responsible for providing a stimulating, child-centered learning environment that promotes the development of independence, self-confidence, and a love for learning in elementary-aged students. The successful candidate will have experience with Montessori principles and pedagogy and will be passionate about fostering the academic, social, and emotional growth of each student in their care.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver Montessori-based lessons and activities that align with the school’s curriculum and meet the needs of each individual student
Create a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and active participation
Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents/guardians about their child’s academic and social development
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive educational experience for students
Attend school events, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities as required
Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth in the field of Montessori education
Qualifications:
Montessori elementary teaching certification (AMI or AMS)
Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field
At least two years of experience teaching in a Montessori elementary classroom
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/guardians, and students
Passion for teaching and a commitment to creating a positive, student-centered learning environment
