Montessori Children’s House (MCH) seeks a Lower Elementary teacher for the 2026-27 school year. MCH offers a progressive and comprehensive curriculum built on the philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori to children aged two through twelve in our Toddler through Upper Elementary programs. MCH is located in the beautiful and historical city of Providence, RI, and boasts a diverse community of learners.
Montessori Children’s House is seeking candidates who will embrace the tenets of Montessori Education, including the principles of community, educational excellence, social justice, and equity.
Main responsibilities include:
-Prepare and present engaging lessons using Montessori materials and method
-Teach core academic subjects within the Montessori elementary curriculum
-Foster inquiry, independence, accountability and respect
-Supervise and support students throughout the school day
-Maintain a well-prepared, organized, and inspiring environment
-Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, development, and classroom experiences
-Contribute to a classroom culture based consistently in curiosity, respect and growth
-Collaborate closely with fellow faculty and staff to support student success and school initiatives
We are looking for a candidate who is innovative, flexible, creative and enjoys working in a small yet robust school community.

Requirements:
AMS, AMI or MACTE Elementary credential
Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
Strong communication skills & desire to be part of a team
Experience working with children ages 6-12
