Every idea in math has an origin story.  Join us as we recount the discovery of some of the greatest mathematical ideas of all time by examining the likes of Pythagoras, Gauss, Descartes, Pascal, Euclid, Al-Khwarizimi, Galois, Eratosthenes, Napier, Zeno, as well as many others.  We will focus on stories and content that directly relate to the mathematics that adolescents will encounter.  After this workshop you will be able to take back to your school stories to share, as well as a deeper understanding of how mathematics evolved as a discipline.  The stories will correspond to work in Montessori Algebra for the Adolescent.

 Prerequisites:

Please bring a copy of Montessori Algebra for the Adolescent to this workshop.
